Google does it again.

Google's Secret Driverless Cars May Have Already Passed You on the Highway

In a blog post, Google has revealed that seven retrofitted Priuses have been cruising around California without any drivers. Well, Google employees are behind the wheel in case something goes wrong. But these cars drive themselves! Google owns the future.

According to the New York Times, the cars have already driven more than 1,000 miles "without human intervention," up and down Highway 1 and have even navigated San Francisco's notoriously winding Lombard Street. The Priuses (Prii?) use cameras, radar sensors and a laser range finder hooked up to artificial intelligence software to steer the rig, and data from Google Maps to navigate, according to the official Google blog.

Wow, what other awesome gadgets does Google have that it's not telling us about? A robot that automatically calls your Mom for you every week? Please say yes.

How Abt This???

How often do you write something like this?

if (token == "A")
tokenNumber = 1;
else if (token == "B")
tokenNumber = 4;
else if (token == "C")
tokenNumber = 5;
else if (token == "X")
tokenNumber = 10;
else
tokenNumber = 20;

How about writing it like this?

tokenNumber = (token == "A") ? 1:
(token == "B") ? 4:
(token == "C") ? 5:
(token == "X") ? 10:
20;

Life is not Fair

Believe it or not…life is not fair. Occasionally the bad guy wins, people do play favorites, some good people die young, some people will let you down and not everyone is honest. While we can accept this, it shouldn’t stop us from dreaming big, working hard and doing what is right.
Sometimes it’s who you know and not what you know that matters. It won’t matter that you are the better qualified or the obvious choice. Some will always select people who they personally like better than you. Others who you rely on will let you down. The is especially hard to accept if you are someone who always keeps their word and does what is right. If you’re like that, you automatically think others should too. We could have all saved ourselves a lot of emotional stress if we’d have known all this before we venture out into the real world.
If we’d have learned the way the world worked a young age, we’d have never invested so much in the opinions others have about us. We’d have realized that it’s simply not advantageous to always try to please others. However, it’s still important to keep in mind that life is worth living. The secret is to always keep an optimistic outlook. You simply have to learn how to deal with the negative while seeking out the positive. Once you’ve learned this lesson, you will have the ability to still go out and enjoy a full and rewarding existence no matter how unfair life treats you.

C# DateTime Format

String Format for DateTime [C#]

This example shows how to format DateTime using String.Format method. All formatting can be done also using DateTime.ToString method.

Custom DateTime Formatting
There are following custom format specifiers y (year), M (month), d (day), h (hour 12), H (hour 24), m (minute), s (second), f (second fraction), F (second fraction, trailing zeroes are trimmed), t (P.M or A.M) and z (time zone).

Following examples demonstrate how are the format specifiers rewritten to the output.

[C#]
// create date time 2008-03-09 16:05:07.123
DateTime dt = new DateTime(2008, 3, 9, 16, 5, 7, 123);

String.Format("{0:y yy yyy yyyy}", dt); // "8 08 008 2008" year
String.Format("{0:M MM MMM MMMM}", dt); // "3 03 Mar March" month
String.Format("{0:d dd ddd dddd}", dt); // "9 09 Sun Sunday" day
String.Format("{0:h hh H HH}", dt); // "4 04 16 16" hour 12/24
String.Format("{0:m mm}", dt); // "5 05" minute
String.Format("{0:s ss}", dt); // "7 07" second
String.Format("{0:f ff fff ffff}", dt); // "1 12 123 1230" sec.fraction
String.Format("{0:F FF FFF FFFF}", dt); // "1 12 123 123" without zeroes
String.Format("{0:t tt}", dt); // "P PM" A.M. or P.M.
String.Format("{0:z zz zzz}", dt); // "-6 -06 -06:00" time zone

You can use also date separator / (slash) and time sepatator : (colon). These characters will be rewritten to characters defined in the current DateTimeForma tInfo.DateSepa rator and DateTimeForma tInfo.TimeSepa rator.

[C#]
// date separator in german culture is "." (so "/" changes to ".")
String.Format("{0:d/M/yyyy HH:mm:ss}", dt); // "9/3/2008 16:05:07" - english (en-US)
String.Format("{0:d/M/yyyy HH:mm:ss}", dt); // "9.3.2008 16:05:07" - german (de-DE)

Here are some examples of custom date and time formatting:

[C#]
// month/day numbers without/with leading zeroes
String.Format("{0:M/d/yyyy}", dt); // "3/9/2008"
String.Format("{0:MM/dd/yyyy}", dt); // "03/09/2008"

// day/month names
String.Format("{0:ddd, MMM d, yyyy}", dt); // "Sun, Mar 9, 2008"
String.Format("{0:dddd, MMMM d, yyyy}", dt); // "Sunday, March 9, 2008"

// two/four digit year
String.Format("{0:MM/dd/yy}", dt); // "03/09/08"
String.Format("{0:MM/dd/yyyy}", dt); // "03/09/2008"

Standard DateTime Formatting
In DateTimeForma tInfo there are defined standard patterns for the current culture. For example property ShortTimePattern is string that contains value h:mm tt for en-US culture and value HH:mm for de-DE culture.

Following table shows patterns defined in DateTimeForma tInfo and their values for en-US culture. First column contains format specifiers for the String.Format method.

Specifier DateTimeFormatInfo property Pattern value (for en-US culture)
t ShortTimePattern h:mm tt
d ShortDatePattern M/d/yyyy
T LongTimePattern h:mm:ss tt
D LongDatePattern dddd, MMMM dd, yyyy
f (combination of D and t) dddd, MMMM dd, yyyy h:mm tt
F FullDateTimePattern dddd, MMMM dd, yyyy h:mm:ss tt
g (combination of d and t) M/d/yyyy h:mm tt
G (combination of d and T) M/d/yyyy h:mm:ss tt
m, M MonthDayPattern MMMM dd
y, Y YearMonthPattern MMMM, yyyy
r, R RFC1123Pattern ddd, dd MMM yyyy HH':'mm':'ss 'GMT' (*)
s SortableDateTi mePattern yyyy'-'MM'-'dd'T'HH':'mm':'ss (*)
u UniversalSorta bleDateTimePat tern yyyy'-'MM'-'dd HH':'mm':'ss'Z' (*)
(*) = culture independent
Following examples show usage of standard format specifiers in String.Format method and the resulting output.

[C#]
String.Format("{0:t}", dt); // "4:05 PM" ShortTime
String.Format("{0:d}", dt); // "3/9/2008" ShortDate
String.Format("{0:T}", dt); // "4:05:07 PM" LongTime
String.Format("{0:D}", dt); // "Sunday, March 09, 2008" LongDate
String.Format("{0:f}", dt); // "Sunday, March 09, 2008 4:05 PM" LongDate+ShortTime
String.Format("{0:F}", dt); // "Sunday, March 09, 2008 4:05:07 PM" FullDateTime
String.Format("{0:g}", dt); // "3/9/2008 4:05 PM" ShortDate+ShortTime
String.Format("{0:G}", dt); // "3/9/2008 4:05:07 PM" ShortDate+LongTime
String.Format("{0:m}", dt); // "March 09" MonthDay
String.Format("{0:y}", dt); // "March, 2008" YearMonth
String.Format("{0:r}", dt); // "Sun, 09 Mar 2008 16:05:07 GMT" RFC1123

Who needs a Space Shuttle? Amazing pictures of Earth captured by one man, a balloon and his compact camera

The unearthly beauty of this image taken high above the planet would make Nasa proud.
But it didn't need millions of pounds of technology to capture.
Just a little British ingenuity that saw a standard digital camera taped to a helium balloon and floated into the sky.

Stratospheric: Robert Harrison captured images of the Earth like this one using a Canon Sure Shot camera fixed in a polystyrene box and attached to a helium balloon

Achievement: Mr Harrison guided the balloon to a height of 22 miles above the Earth's surface and was able to recover the camera as it parachuted back down to earth using a sat-nav device

Ingenious: Robert Harrison with his creation, a camera enclosed in a polystyrene box. He then used GPS tracking technology similar to an in-car sat-nav to follow its progress
Space enthusiast Robert Harrison managed to send his home-made contraption 22 miles - or 116,160 feet - above the earth's surface from his back garden.

More...
One giant leap for... Swindon: UK's answer to Nasa is launched in Wiltshire (with one astronaut)
He used GPS tracking technology similar to an in-car sat-nav to follow its progress - and an attached radio transmitter to find it when it parachutes back to earth.
The photos taken by his device were so spectacular that Nasa has been in touch to see how he achieved it.
Mr Harrison's budget of £500 might also offer inspiration to the new UK Space Agency, which launches on April 1. Based in Swindon, with only one astronaut and a budget one 50th the size of Nasa's, it will be looking for cut-price ways to reach for the sky.
Mr Harrison first got the idea to explore space after a failed attempt to take aerial pictures of his house using a remote control helicopter.
After investigating high-altitude weather balloons on the internet, he launched his first mini spacecraft, named Icarus I, in October 2008.
It took dramatic shots that spanned 1,000 miles of the Earth's surface, showing the curvature-of the earth. He has since sent a dozen capsules into space.
'My family and friends thought I was a bit mad at first but they were suitably impressed with the results,' said the married father of three from Highburton, West Yorkshire.
'The pictures speak for themselves. People think this is something that costs millions but it doesn't.'
Before launch, the camera is attached to a tiny computer programmed to trigger a photo every five minutes.
It is wrapped in loft insulation bought from a DIY store then placed in a polystyrene box.
When the balloon reaches the 22-mile-high mark it pops because the air pressure is too weak to keep the helium inside. As the box falls a mini-parachute automatically opens. Mr Harrison has recovered it from up to 50 miles away.

Tank Man

After all others had been silenced, his lonely act of defiance against the Chinese regime amazed the world. What became of him? And 20 years later, has China succeeded in erasing this event from its history?

It all started with a man in a white shirt who walked into the street and raised his right hand no higher than a New Yorker hailing a taxi,” James Barron wrote the following day in The New York Times. The picture appeared on the front page of this newspaper as well as in countless other publications around the world.

To this day, the identity and fate of the man in the picture remain unclear. A riveting documentary, “The Tank Man,” by PBS Frontline in 2006 explored his fate. Yet still no one knows for certain who he is or what exactly happened to him. The image is largely blocked on the Internet in China. Despite its iconic status and historical significance elsewhere, most young people there do not recognize the photograph

YinYang

The Symbol (Yin-Yang) represents the ancient Chinese understanding of how things work. The outer circle represents ';everything';, while the black and white shapes within the circle represent the interaction of two energies, called ';yin'; (black) and ';yang'; (white), which cause everything to happen. They are not completely black or white, just as things in life are not completely black or white, and they cannot exist without each other.It shows the balance of the world, light and dark, good and evil, etc.Ancient Chinese symbolic of balance between all things, Good vs bad etc. Another way to look at it would be Newton's third law of motion, for every action, there is an apposite and equal reaction.it's the dualism, good and bad, happiness and sadnees...

Bug

Why do we call a computer problem a “bug”?
According to Grace Hopper, who led the team that developed the first large-scale computer for the American Navy in 1945, the word was coined when, after tracing an unexplained problem for days, they finally found the cause to be a two-inch bug, a moth, that had gotten stuck in the relay system. From then on, all unexplained computer problems were called bugs.

Cooliris:Makes Your Craigslist Search Damn Easy !!!!!

"Cooliris:Makes Your Craigslist Search Damn Easy !!!!!"

In their own words, Cooliris “…transforms your browser into a lightning fast cinematic way to enjoy photos and videos from the web or your desktop.” I’ve been using it with Google Chrome ( Search for Google Chrome Extensions "Cooliris" and install) though it is available for Internet Explorer and Safari as well. Whether searching for new desktop wallpaper or stock images for a website, I would use Cooliris to quickly browse thousands of photos with an Apple “CoverFlow” feel.

Recent Cooliris updates make for a GREAT way to search Craigslist. Previous versions of Cooliris appeared to open as a full screen, modal pop-up which you could “escape” out of. Their latest version actually opens a new browser tab; allowing you to bookmark your favorite image searches. Combine this with Craigslist, and you’ve got a very efficient way to peruse the world’s largest yard-sale!

I don’t waste time looking at ads that don’t have pictures. This morning, I decided to search for Laptops for sale in my area and noticed the Cooliris icon was illuminated. Cooliris Icon when i hover on the images in the Craigslist. One click took me to a magical, Craigslist wonderland! And better yet, when I clicked on the images to get a closer view, the item description was listed along with all other item photos. Here’s how:

  1. Download and install Cooliris ( Google Chrome is recommended for one click extension install)
  2. Browse to your www.craigslist.com
  3. Drill-down to your category of choice
  4. Search for listings that have images by checking the “has image’ check box
  5. Click search and then click the illuminated Cooliris icon Cooliris Icon
  6. wait for the Cooliris window to open
  7. You can browse through all the posts with a "CoverFlow " feel.

Farmer wins case against Prez kin | Deccan Chronicle

Nagpur/New Delhi: A humble, unemployed farmer fought for nearly three years to save his tiny two-acre land from none other than the family members of President Pratibha Patil - and succeeded here Wednesday. The president's office declined to comment on the matter.

The farmer, Kishore Bansod, 29, had been fighting the powerful political family of the Shekhawats, who are also big landlords in Chandrapur-Khullar village in Amravati, 150 km from here, said his lawyer Sunil Gajbhiye.

"The Shekhawats were forcing him to sell off his two acres worth around Rs.10 lakhs so that they could get unrestricted access to their own farm, which is around 200 acres," Mr Gajbhiye.

When Bansod refused to sell his ancestral property bequeathed to him by his father, the Shekhawats managed to use their influence and insert their names in the official land records of the revenue department on March 10, 2007, according to Mr Gajbhiye.

The matter came to light when Bansod sought copies of his land records from the revenue department in June last year.

"He was surprised to find the names of Shekhawats on the land records, indicating their ownership of the small property," Mr Gajbhiye added.

The names include: Devisingh Shekhawat, Pratibha Patil's husband, his brother Raghusingh Lalsinh Shekhawat, and other relatives including Siddheshwar Lalsinh Shekhawat, Bhawarsingh Lalsinh Shekhawat, Kishoresingh Lalsinh Shekhawat and Omsingh Lalsinh Shekhawat.

Bansod decided to challenge the alterations in the land records made without his knowledge before the sub-divisional office court presided by Mr Ashok Amankar.

After a long battle of nearly three years, the court finally ruled in Bansod's favour Wednesday and ordered that all the names of the Shekhawat family members be struck off from the land records.

"Under Section 10 of the Criminal Procedure Code, the SDO court has the powers to give a ruling in such matters. For the poor Bansod, it is a significant victory over such powerful personalities. We are happy that his rightful ownership over the small piece of land has been established," Mr Gajbhiye said.

An official from the president's secretariat declined to comment on the matter when contacted. "No comments," the official said.

The Reptilian Brain

Reptilian Brain

Innermost in our brain is what is called the reptilian brain, its oldest and most primitive part. The reptilian brain appears to be largely unchanged by evolution and we share it with all other animals which have a backbone.

This reptilian brain controls body functions required for sustaining life such as breathing and body temperature. Reptiles are cold-blooded animals which are warmed by the daylight sun and conserve energy by restricting activities when it is dark. The biological clock (controller) for their activity-rest cycle is located in the eye itself {10}.

At this level of evolution, behavior relating to survival of the species, such as sexual behaviour, is instinctive and responses are automatic. Territory is acquired by force and defended. Might is right.

(Might is right: The very basic foundation of the attitudes which motivate the actions of the Illuminati).

Mammalian Brain

Next to evolve from the reptilian brain was the mammalian brain. An enormous change took place as mammals evolved from reptiles, the mammalian brain containing organs {11, 12}:

  • For the automatic control of body functions such as digestion, the fluid balance, body temperature and blood pressure (autonomic nervous system, hypothalamus)

  • For filing new experiences as they happen and so creating a store of experience-based memories (hippocampus)

  • For experience-based recognition of danger and for responding to this according to past experience. And for some conscious feelings about events (amygdala)

To this extent the mammal is more consciously aware of itself in relation to the environment. Millions of neural pathways connect the hippocampal and amygdalastructures to the reptilian brain and behavior is less rigidly controlled by instincts. It seems that feelings such as attachment, anger and fear have emerged with associated behavioral response patterns of care, fight or flight. {4}

Human Brain

And the mammalian brain became the human brain by adding the massive grey matter (neocortex) which envelopes most of the earlier brain and amounts to about 85 per cent of the human brain mass.

This massive addition consists mostly of two hemispheres which are covered by an outer layer and interconnected by a string of nerve fibers. {13}

The brain is actually divided into its ’hemispheres’ by a prominent groove. At the base of this groove lies the thick bundle of nerve fibers which enable these two halves of the brain to communicate with each other.

(The aim of the Illuminati-reptilians has been to disconnect as much as possible the functions of these two distinct parts of the brain so we can be manipulated through the right brain while only being conscious of the left. They plant thoughts, responses, and images through the right brain (the dream-state, the non-conscious, through symbolism and subliminal imagery) while imprisoning the human conscious level in the left brain - the world of can I touch it, smell it, taste it, see it, hear it, OK it must exist. This is why the "education" system, and "science" is designed to talk to the left brain. This way, the Illuminati can enter the human brain through the right side, undetected, and these images and subliminals then enter the left brain as conscious, this world, thoughts and reactions, which people take to be their own.

This is why if you look you will find so many words like imagination, imagine, dream, and so on used in advertising of all kinds. They know if they can get you in that right brain non-conscious, day-dream state, they can enter your mind with imagery and then tell your left brain how to decode it into conscious language. i.e. "I want to buy that car", "I think we need to give the police more power to stop crime" , "I need to take Viagra so I can be a proper man", "a world government is what we need." This is why most television programs are about a fantasy world of make-believe in endless forms. It is to open up the unconscious right brain and allow the reptilian brain access through that to the conscious mind.

Music is used in the same way. Nothing wrong with music in itself, of course. As with everything, it is the way it is manipulated that I am talking about. And who controls the music industry? The same people who control Hollywood and the global media in general - the Illuminati. The biggest music operation in the world, for instance, is Universal Music, owned by the Bronfman family of Canada, a major Illuminati family, who are mentioned widely on this site and in my books.)

But the left hemisphere usually controls movement and sensation in the right side of the body, while the right hemisphere similarly controls the left side of the body. We saw that with the mammalian brain emerged feelings such as attachment, fear and anger and associated behavioral response patterns. And human emotional responses depend on neuronal pathways which link the right hemisphere to the mammalian brain {4} which in turn is linked to the even older reptilian brain.

Fascinating is the way in which work is divided between the two halves of the brain, their different functions and the way in which they supplement and co-operate with each other.

Most people (about 80 per cent) are right-handed and in the vast majority of right-handed people, the ability to organize speech and the ability to speak are predominantly localized in the left side of the brain. But the right side can understand written and spoken language to some extent at least. {14}

"Appreciating spatial perceptions depends more on the right hemisphere, although there is a left hemisphere contribution. This is especially true when handling objects" {14} and concerning abstract geometric shapes and music.

Roger Sperry, Michael Gazzaniga and their colleagues found that, when presented with a stimulus, both hemispheres were active and could recognize the nature of visual stimuli as well as spoken words.

But while the left hemisphere can express itself by verbally describing a stimulus, the right hemisphere can express itself non-verbally by selecting the matching stimulus. The left hemisphere deals with word choice, rules of grammar, and the meaning of words. The right hemisphere apparently determines the emotional content of speech. {14}

So a general overview of the functional division of activities between the two hemispheres would be:

  • Left Hemisphere
    Communicates by using words, has highly developed verbal abilities, is logical and systematic, concerned with matters as they are.

  • Right Hemisphere
    Communicates using images (pictures), has highly developed spatial abilities, is intuitive and imaginative, concerned with emotions and feelings.
